Due to a select few individuals the future of the trails surrounding the hairy marron and rotary park is in jeopardy. These trails have been here for years passed on by word of mouth over many generations of cyclists. In recent years these trails have provided a safe haven for many young enthusiastic mountain bikers such as myself to practice and develop their skills and is one of the only trail networks in the area which caters for the advanced rider whom seeks to seek refuge away from the machine built trails such as the pines and experience that true unique single track feeling. What these individuals dont understand is the amount of hours that have been spent developing the trail network, we are talking 5 years of hard work and up until now no one has said a word, infact we are often faced with other outdoor enthusiasts filling us with praise for what we are doing. We seem to be criticised for harming the environment and supposedly causing ever lasting detrimental effects to the area, although I would like to state that if these said individuals take a step back from their keyboards and think about the absolute abolishment of forrests around the world one would come to realise that a few teenagera expressing their passion and their hobbie carving minimalistic singletrack through the bush shows relative insignificance compared to the 80,000 acres of tropical rainforrest that are lost DAILY across the world. The destruction of these trails will lead to users seeking another location to express their intetests so the thought that this could in anyway put a stop to illegal trail building of any kind is obsurd im fact it will only make matters worse. In the vision of the users of this area we would like to see all outdoor enthusiasts be able to unite together and all be able to express their interests in the way of which they please without the need for conflict, the area surrounding rotary park is a recreational haven which should be for all to enjoy, a compromise needs to be made in order for things to move forward
