Dress Code for Students

We believe that students should have the right to express themselves with the way they dress, but we are finding it difficult to express ourselves with the regulations that our school board has assigned us. The girls have more dress code regulations than the boys because if we wear a dress/skirt it must be to the knee or below and have a collar. We, as girls understand some of these regulations, but it is difficult for us to find dresses to the knee, let alone with a collar. It is a waste of money on our behalf and we must change that. As for the guys their dress code also needs to change because they are required to dress professionally and appropriate. They should be able to express themselves just as much as the girls, but with appropriate graphics and comfortable wear. All we ask for is a more lenient dress code, what we wear can appear professional without having a collar. We know what school we go to and how we should act, so we should also be able to know how to dress ourselves appropriately. Thank you.
