Timothy Saridakis started this petition to Anyone and Everyone

My name is Timothy. I am a 12th grader. Recently in my home town in Connecticut, my friends brother committed suicide. He was only 12. A 6th grader. This honestly shocked me and made me cry. One thing I have noticed in our world today is the lack of Mental Health Awareness. I myself have been struggling with my own issues and i’m not ashamed to share with you my experience. I have been bullied, made fun of, put down.

Anyone who feels this way should seek help immediately. But they can’t. Some parents don’t listen to their children. These kids don’t have anyone to go to for help. I know of a school psychologist employed at my school however they are not there when kids like me need them most.

One thing that needs to change Nationally in the United States of America is more than 2 school psychologists on all 5 days of the week at every School institution in the United States of America. This would greatly help the mental health of your children, and my friends. Please spread the word and really put yourself in someone’s shoes. Especially during the pandemic. I send my condolences to the family that has lost their child to mental health. But know, you are not alone.

My goal in making this is to make people aware of this problem. What you can do is be there for your friends, family, acquaintances and be kind to everyone. I can’t make a change on my own. Spreading kindness regardless of who you are, your race, your gender, is important to make a change in this world. Spread the word and please be mindful of families impacted by this. Give them space and be thoughtful for them. Thank you for your time.
