The Theewaterskloof Municipality and Vodacom have applied to erect a telecommunication station (cellphone tower) at De Villiers Graaf School.

500 Meters (the circled area in the picture) is an area of high radiation concern according to guidelines of the International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) standards on emission for limiting exposure to electromagnetic radiations from mobile towers and handsets.

The tower would be able to send signal up to 72,4205 Kilometers from the base point.

Radiofrequency radiation has been linked to a broad range of health consequences including autoimmune diseases, infertility, DNA damage and even cancer. Do you want to expose your family to these dangers? Harm by radiation is not reversible. It is fundamentally important to minimise the risk.

The Municipality claims to have notified residents of this. This is not true. Multiple residents received no notification and are not aware of this proposal.

Please raise your objections if you are not in favour of the tower by signing below, emailing, phoning or delivering your opinion in person to the municipal offices.
