ANU, please resume negotiations with the Ramsay Centre
0 have signed. Let’s get to 200!
Until yesterday, the Australian National University had reportedly been in talks with the Ramsay Centre for Western Civilisation about the creation of a new degree program at the university that could have seen scholarships worth $25,000 a year for up to 40 students.
It now appears that the ANU has bowed to pressure from the National Tertiary Education Union and the Australian National University Student Association, withdrawing from negotiations with the Ramsay Centre.
This decision will only have an adverse effect on students, who risk losing the benefit of scholarships and the opportunity to study the proposed degree.
The ANU should do the right thing and resume negotiations with the Ramsay Centre in good faith and with the interests of students in mind.
