SAVE OUR COMMUNITY AMBULANCE STATIONS

SAVE OUR COMMUNITY AMBULANCE STATIONS

WMAS are closing CAS bases. This decision saves very little money and will risk the lives of those living in more rural areas away from the hubs.
There have been no consultations with the public or paramedics.
This is an unsafe change.
WMAS boast that they are the top performing trust, but they manipulate figures by basing ambulances in high density cities. Many appliances are sent to neighbouring trusts at the expense of our trust.
3.5-5% figures they quote sounds small but it amounts to 1000s of calls in a year. One death caused by delayed response is one too many.
No consideration has been given to the paramedics who deserve a little down time and a break away from their vehicle.
statistics are flawed as they have been compiled during a time of unprecedented demand from COVID.
We must fight against this decision.
