Cancel Plans to Regulate Charity Feeding of Homeless

The Issue

A new ordinance will make it illegal to feed homeless people in Houston unless it is at a specific location, unless you are registered with the city, and unless you have taken a food safety class.  One reason given for the ordinance is that they're worried about tainted food (as opposed to the food the homeless usually get from the dumpsters).

Since we know this ordinance is really about  Houston's image and not helping the homeless, let's ask the city council to abort this cause or rewrite the ordinance in such a way that will not make it a burden for the charities to provide much needed assistance to Houston's homeless population.
