The coronavirus (COVID-19) is spreading in the United States, especially California. There have been many cases of the virus here in California that are domestic transfer. Schools are dirty, kids often touch each other, and the experts say it could have been spreading undetected in the United States for weeks because the CDC would not test anyone for the virus.

Experts have already recommended people avoid large gatherings, so why are schools still open? So many people are packed into tight spaces which makes the virus so happy. But not us. Who wants their kids to go to school when they are scared they will catch an infectious disease? Kids should be happy at school - not worried. The current situation with the coronavirus is causing kids to be scared. This is not just the flu. This is a PANDEMIC. 

There are already many cases in Contra Costa County and it’s still growing. 

The Liberty Union High School District (LUHSD) and neighboring districts MUST cancel class for the safety of students. The districts should not care about money. The districts should care more about student safety. We should just switch to online classes like how the Northshore School District near Seattle has done. We can do it to. 

For a solution to make up the missed days we could consider making up the days through online school
