Aaron Smee started this petition to Annastacia Palaszczuk (Premier of Queensland) and

Personal Trainers in Queensland, and all of Australia, have been given a misrepresentation, and as a result, are being classified wrongfully as "Non-essential".

The stereotype of Trainers simply making someone push really hard with cardio workouts, and make them breath really heavily as a result, or to "smash them", is outdated, and not a true representation of what the majority of Personal Trainers currently do.

The main role of a Personal Trainer in people's health and fitness is to provide support for people that are otherwise unable to undertake the activities that they are required to do to stay healthy. This is done by providing guidance and feedback in a way so as to prevent injury, or to prevent worsening of current problems they are facing. It is also to assist people who have chronic conditions, which can be solved through the prescription of the correct exercises.

We are also there to provide mental support, as this is an important part in someone's health.

The aim of this petition is to have what we really do be recognized, and as a result, have us reclassified as "essential", like many other "essential" professions that do the same thing as us.
