The purpose of this petition is to serve as a voice for the residents of the Mount Barker District Council who oppose the proposed speed limit reductions on arterial roads throughout the hills without community consultation. Specifically Bald Hills and Springs roads.

I believe that the residents of the district should have their say on whether or not they believe these roads to actually be dangerous and if so what measures can be taken to ensure the safety of both road users and cyclists / pedestrians.

Alternative options for the roads in question should be presented by the community below and may include options such as installing a separate bike path beside the roadways, footpaths / barriers to protect footpaths or adjusting intersections to make entering the roads in question safer.
