i am signing this because i totally agree but since you put a certain place in your petition if it is successful then i don't know if it will affect where i live too so please make another (keep this one too) since you get so many signatures and make sure you say everywhere or maybe everywhere in the USA thank you ! there have been so many wrecks out in front of my school and my little sisters school my aunt thinks its because people are drinking and "kids don't know how to drive" but i think that's all bullcrap, i think its because we get up at 5 am and we are still partially asleep and the fact that no one know's how to drive we need later starting times and earlier ending times start maybe at 11 so we can get up at 10 get on the bus at 10:15 eat breakfast til 11 and leave school at 2 or 2:30 or maybe 3..........

Kids need the appropriate amount of sleep without having to go to bed at 8:00

We have known about this for decades. If we want students to succeed they need adequate sleep, and for adolescents this means sleeping in.

I hated getting up in the morning to go to school--I never felt fully awake. (Really started learning at full capacity when I got to college and didn't take any classes before 10:00)

I strongly support this initiative, based on personal observations and the growing body or research. Chronic sleep deprivation is a big problem contributing to many difficulties.

I'm signing because students need more sleep and school needs to start later! People are literally falling asleep in class because they are so tired which means that they're missing important lessons.

My AAPS-educated children are out of college. However, I always thought our school starting times were backwards. It was my experience, and that of the parents of my children's classmates, that Elementary children are 'ready to go' first thing in the morning. Middle Schoolers later than Elementary. And, most importantly of all, High Schoolers are not ready get to work until at least 9am.
