I am a parent of three AAPS students, and this is another further poorly conceived move by the district that meerly maintains the current form of Education Theatre gripping our state and nation.

I think that a local school board should not be able to overrule parental decisions regarding their children and their children's education

I am less against testing than I am against a policy that aims to strong arm individuals into compliance via threats.

I'm signing because I am disgusted with the Ann Arbor Superintendent and want to give 100% support to teachers

The mass testing of students is counterproductive. It steals from teachers and students the time so much needed for real teaching. This is what the policy of opt-out prevents from and it should not be taken away!.

Some families should not be punished for opting out of the tests - when they were told this was an option! That's totally unfair! and why at only SOME SCHOOLS and not ALL SCHOOLS? This is just not right.

It seems to me that state mandated testing has now gone to the extreme. The idea that a student could be expelled for opting out of the MSTEP or any other form of the MEAP undermines the very idea of education. In addition, the MSTEP did not correlate with the common core curriculum .It was extremely difficult and given in May . It seems to me that it is a design for failure. The MEAP was designed to test public school students to determine need for additional funding .

I'm very unhappy with the focus on testing in the Ann Arbor schools in general. I think it does very bad things to the kids-- My daughter tests well, but the most recent round of testing really freaked her out. I think the proposal in question is vile, and I will be paying close attention to who votes in favor of it.
