Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, India website which is the only portal through which PF claims are made and PF contributions are deposited is stupendously slow and non-responsive. Salaried class when in need of urgent money, the only fall back they have is to opt for PF withdrawal, but website https://www.epfindia.gov.in/ is so nonresponsive, and always returns message like the website is experiencing heavy traffic, please try after some time. The process of logging is not simple and multiple entries at multiple pages to be done and often after putting in several hours of work the website returns message that it is experiencing heavy traffic. It reminds the good old PF office where things never used to move, seems like intentionally the website is made such ineffective so that PF beneficiary visits PF office for their resolutions, this seems like intentionally made inefficient to enable PF office bearer can get their payoffs which they think is their fundamental right.
In a digital age where very efficient websites co-exist, for example Income Tax Of India website, all banking website, Passport of India website, the near non-functional website of EPFO raises eyebrows of suspicion that it is intentional, While only 1% of countries population pays income tax, and majority of them being salaried class, they deserve a better infrastructure and ease of dealing with government agencies. Though the initiatives taken by present government to enable facilities to make PF claims online, it now becomes important that those infrastructure is made simple and user friendly.
