Animals are not things

Slovakia is the last country in Europe that considers animals to be things. It is funny. I do not understand how someone can say that living being is only an object. It does not make sense. Animals are living creatures which have feelings. They are not just toys that you can easily throw away, when you get bored with them. But some people do not get it and the animal shelters are becoming overcrowded. And it is not just domestic animals, it is also badly treated wild animals, for example in circuses where they have a minimum of living space.
On the 26th of July 2017 there has already been a proposal dealing with the law change.
The most important and the most popular change should be, that the Slovak republic will not consider animals as things, but as living creatures. The law should also include marking dogs with chip under the cutis. One of the changes is related to the circuses and circus animals. The owners of the animals held in poor conditions will be sentenced to prison for eight years.
The law was supposed to be applied since January 2018, but it was not.
The publication of law has been postponed since that date, due to objections of public.
Join the petition and together reach out to publish the law as soon as possible and save many innocent animals.
