A pregnant wild elephant in Kerala’s Silent Valley Forest fell victim to an act of human cruelty after a pineapple filled with crackers offered by a man exploded in her mouth when she chomped on it. A senior officer said that ‘Her jaw was broken and she was unable to eat after she chewed the pineapple and it exploded in her mouth.’ The elephant died at Velliyar River in Malappuram district on May 27. One of the forest officer posted a note on Facebook narrating the death of the elephant in the waters of the Velliyar River. When they saw the elephant she was standing in the river with her head dipped in the water. She died in the standing position . She had come in between the people in order to find food . This is totally wrong every animal in the earth has the right to live as earth belongs to everyone not only humans. The elephant was going to give birth to a new life that died before seeing the mother and the earth. I’m requesting the Animal welfare board of India to take strict actions against such people and also I’m requesting the state government to take strict action. Two elephants died on May 27 , one is the mother and the second is the baby. Kerala is one of those states that have high literacy rate but this type of act is of human cruelty is totally unacceptable. Justice for the elephant and her baby.
