Animal Shelters Cramming Dogs into Travel Crates to Live

Many animal shelters are using small travel crates to house dogs for years. This is cruel and inhumane punishment, as the dogs can't even straighten out their bodies, move around freely, or see outside. These animals are severely depressed and trapped. No animal should have to live like this, and this is what your tax dollars are paying for. This treatment is perfectly legal as the law does not define what "adequate" shelter means. It is left vague intentionally so animal shelters, organizations, and facilities housing animals do not have to face any criminal charges for they way they provide animal housing. There is a lot of wasted space in shelters and apathetic bureaucracy that hurt animals. The animals are the only ones who suffer, have no protection, and have no voice or rights. Please help change this and make a difference in their lives.
