A pregnant elephant was fed pineapple with firecrackers when it wandered into village. It bursted in her mouth causing her severe pain which led her to take to the water to reduce burning. She died standing in the water inspite of rescue efforts by forest officials. The culprits must be punished gravely who did this to her so that such cruelty against animals are not repeated.
