On Tuesday morning 16th July Enzo, our 67kg Newfoundland suffered an unprovoked and sustained attack by a pit bull cross in our street Edgewater Drive Pakuranga. The attacking dog was less than half his size yet Enzo died a slow and painful death 8 days later from the crush injuries he sustained from the dog’s powerful jaws in the attack.
Enzo was days short of his 5th birthday and in peak condition. He was attacked whilst on his regular morning walk on leash with his owner Elaine. When Elaine ended up sprawled on the road witnesses say he stood over her to protect her with the dog’s jaws firmly latched on to him with no regard for his own life. This Gentle Giant gave his life for his owner.
The next victim could be you , your children or your family pet. Animal Management will not prosecute. They did not even interview the key witness who helped stop the attack.
The dog remains in our midst. Sign the petition to prevent a further attack .
