Animal Husbandry Department of Maharashtra Government has issued a circular to facilitate fanatics in slaughtering of bulls during 6th and 8th October for celebration of ‘Bakri Eid. The order says that Deonar Abattoir may be allowed to slaughter additional 12000 bulls than usual quota on this occasion. An animal is allowed to be killed once it is proved that such animal is sick or old or not fit to be used in farming; but how on the occasion of Bakri Eid, 12000 bulls will suddenly become sick or old. It is quite clear that they no one can come up with 12000 'sick & old' bulls within such a short duration. The department should understand that every living being has a right to live and all have equal value. It seems to be a political gimmick to please a section of our society for the upcoming elections. For someone's personal benefit, laying 12000 bulls for slaughter is no humanity. One should believe in the principle of ' Live & Let Live'. Such brutal killngs should be prohibited. Kindly sign the petition to save the non-human living beings.
