There are still a ton of racists out there in the world and people don’t really acknowledge that. Why is that? you may ask yourselves because they are not affected by it, hence they do not believe that it exists’. There are a lot of racist people out there calling out Indonesian people for having Chinese descendants. The same racism goes on towards the people of Papua as well, the name-calling, harassment, and other despicable actions, such as being publicly shamed, bullied, murdered, and given a harder time economically by people who don’t take so kindly to them. There are a lot of cases where the Chinese-blooded people are beaten up because they theorize that Chinese people are the cause of their loss in the economy and why they do not have jobs. Papuans also have also been rejected economically, that reason isn't really clear, a lot of people generalize Papuans even though they haven't done anything wrong, in fact, the Papuans have always been less fortunate economically, and to put more pressure on them is a bit too harsh not to be classified as racism, especially the amount of unnecessary hatred brought upon them. I believe that by making this project I will be able to decrease the inequalities. An example of when something likes this happens is when people blame Chinese people for the existence of corona and when people attacked a Papuan dormitory student in Surabaya on the 17th of august, that's when people started calling Papuans monkeys which caused a big conflict against the Papuans and Indonesians. When more people sign the petition, it will be more popular and get other people to sign it. When more and more people sign it and share it, eventually this petition will be brought to the government. After the petition is brought up to the government, they’ll take it from there. My goal is to reduce the inequalities formed all over Indonesia and I'll be getting help from the citizens.
