Exeter currently suffers from poor mobile phone coverage, impacting local residents and businesses, including the numerous trades who service our community.
The major telcos have no current plans to provide a dedicated tower for Exeter or to utilise the NBN tower on Ringwood Rd.
Our best remaining option is to have Exeter added to the Federal Government "Mobile Black Spot" program which has already funded over 1,000 new base stations around Australia. Round 6 of this program will shortly be open and it has $80m of funding available.
Our local federal MP, Angus Taylor, has undertaken to submit an application for Exeter to be included in the Black Spot program and we need every signature possible to maximise our chances of success.
There are around 1,000 people living in Exeter comprising 500 dwellings and we are aiming for at least 250 signatures, hopefully many more.
