Re-open the Salisbury town path asap!

Following the awful recent events in Salisbury our city has emerged as courageous, proud and resilient. We have worked with all the precautions necessary to restore our homes safety.
However in this second round of crisis one particular measure we feel needs urgently rethinking. The town path must be reopened as soon as possible.
Whilst there is no question that safety is paramount- the inclusion of the small section of concrete path in Elizabeth Gardens between the bridge (to the town path) and Mill Road has caused the whole Town Path to close. This is a major link between the thousands who live in west Harnham to the town centre and for those in the city centre who attend Harnham schools. The alternatives for those of us who depend on the path are creating all kinds of issues.
Since this section of path is small and at the opposite end of the park likely affected, we strongly suggest it be excluded from the cordons and the Town Path reopened. This exclusion seems especially unfair given that the pavement directly alongside the park and the carpark to the surgery are still open and are far closer in proximity to the likely affected area.
This may seem small, but to those of us just trying to get on with life it is a real issue and we would greatly appreciate this change.
