Freedom of choice
We need the council to support the pupils they have grouped together in their super-schools. They have let them down on a major scale. Have they even considered the consequences of their actions, creating these super schools? It's like they have agreed and implemented phase one which is primary education and conveniently forgotten secondary education.
They expect children to be happy to go to the secondary schools in their own catchment area, even though the friends they have made all through primary school will be attending different schools.
No support whatsoever has been offered for children to attend a school out of their catchment area with their friends. No transport offered either.
We need the council to take action now and settle this problem. They have to transport the pupils to school, regardless of where they are, so why can't they provide suitable safe transport for the children in our communities?
We need all of you in the community to support our plight for the children to have a happier, safe and secure future. School is difficult enough for some pupils as it is without them being sent to a school they don't want to attend.
Come on everyone please pledge your support for the sake of the children. It's been a harrowing 18 months for everyone, remember together we are stronger.
