Make Hyattsville, MD Safer! Install Appropriate Turn Signals and Speed Cameras!

Many of you may know that funds have been already allocated for left-turn signals at the Adelphi Road/Wells Parkway intersection, to allow safer turning into College Heights Estates (CHE) and to the opposite side of Adelphi Road. It is clear to us that these signals have become necessary to decrease the numerous accidents taking place at this intersection. We are concerned that accidents could lead to further injuries and even worse, fatalities.
However, we have not received any indication as to when these turn signals will be installed; and we are very concerned that this be done before the end of 2021. It has been suggested that we voice our concern directly to Prince George's County Executive, Angela Alsobrooks, with hopes that she can expedite this matter.
In addition to the turn signals, an on-going issue has been the speeding on Adelphi Road between Wells Parkway and Campus Drive. Hence, we are also asking that speed cameras be installed on both sides of Adelphi Road to slow down drivers who are using this road as a speedway.
We invite you to sign this petition and add your comments and/or experiences at this intersection. Thank you for your efforts in making our neighborhood safer!
