Jerusalem is in inappropriate anthem for Stantonbury Campus, let the students create one

Stantonbury Campus is planning to adopt Jerusalem as the school anthem.
Stantonbury Campus was established in 1974 as a forward thinking school based on individuality and respect for learners and educators. The school has a strong ethos of creativity, respect and equality, a place that strives to be different from the average.
The anthem Jerusalem although a statement against nationalism and pride has become associated with flag waving events such as Rugby internationals and the Last Night of the Proms. This is at odds with the traditions of Stantonbury as a progressive educational establishment.
Stantonbury has a history as an integrated community campus with no uniform where teachers were addressed as equals. Ideas years ahead of their time such as combined subjects like Scitech and Shared Time, theatre and dance as learning, your choice of sports, Day 10 and Week 10, Peel, Peak were experimented with. This is a school with a history of being different and ground breaking. It was amazing to see the effort and love put in by the brilliant staff to CREATE such a wonderful environment.
In the spirit of Stantonbury we believe it should be for the students and staff of Stantonbury to choose their own representative song and have a competition to compose and promote a song that means something to the highly diverse and creative community at the school. We urge you to continue the ethos of Stantonbury and let the school decide.
