More bins and less litter at Linlithgow Loch

I want to encourage West Lothian Council to adopt the following measures in order to combat the major problem of litter by Linlithgow Loch.

These are my suggestions:

  • Double the amount of available bins because the current ones are regularly full
  • Ensure bird flaps are put on all bins to stop birds spreading litter
  • Have discussions with the ‘Golden Chip’ about its packaging boxes, which create most of the litter
  • Have a litter warden patrol the area at least once a week as a deterrent to litterbugs
  • Put up posters to make people aware of the fines for littering
