Manchester's historic Belle Vue Stadium is under threat from developers wishing to build 247 houses on the site.

Please sign the petition to help us fight the plans to demolish this iconic and viable stadium.

The stadium first opened in 1926, as part of the legendary Belle Vue area and is famous for staging the first ever Greyhound racing event in the UK.

Now the birthplace of racing in this country is under immediate threat from developers who wish to flatten the 'Grand Old Lady'.

The stadium is the last remaining element of the grand Belle Vue area. Over the years, all of the other buildings including the famous Zoological Gardens and the Hyde Road stadium have been demolished for development.

To this day Belle Vue Stadium continues as one of the UK’s most popular Greyhound and Stock Car Racing venues, as well as providing an important social hub for the city.

The planned demolition provides nothing as a leisure alternative within the area, for both current and future residents. This in a city famed for its sporting achievements and history.

Our campaign objects to the planning and wishes to ensure that the stadium remains as a landmark to be enjoyed for many years to come - it is a worrying trend that too many community venues are being allowed to be redeveloped.

The stadium is unique in the community, providing a home for motor sport and greyhound racing which will be almost impossible to replace.

We know what can be done, and we are up for the fight. Are you? Every voice literally does count.

Please SIGN our petition to Save Belle Vue Stadium before it's too late.

Remember - when it’s gone, it’s gone for ever.
