Shannon Kelly started this petition to Governor Andy Beshear and

Home is the place you always come back to, from wherever it was you were temporarily located. Home is a soul that is the conglomerate of every good and bad memory that ever occurred there. Home is the sure thing sending a light out into the unknown of every other part of existence. Home is what you call the place so real it is like another person or parent, steadfast and uncomplaining. Home is where I have always been leaving, always knowing I will return to, like the most faithful partner, who has shown you how to trust the adventure, and where to come back to when you are finished and tired and ready to rest.

My heart is breaking. We have been living in our beautiful 100-year-old house my entire life, and my parents bought it a few years before that. My dad, and architect, has meticulously and artfully renovated every room. This is not just a house. This is our HOME. The memories it holds are priceless.

Now we have been told that University of Kentucky has bought the street, and plans to demolish each and every house on it, to build wasteful new building.

Please, help us keep our beautiful house and trees, and tell UK to find somewhere else to build. END CAMPUS SPRAWL.
