Parents, faculty, and students agree that the traffic conditions around Pavilion Central School pose a danger to everyone at the school.  High volumes of traffic and trucks on Route 63 make entering and exiting the school a risky proposition.

Currently, there 3 lanes of traffic in front of the school and vehicles routinely race to pass within the double lane that ends at the entrance of the bus loop.  Buses coming in and out of the school must guess at the speed of cross-traffic as they enter the highway because there is no traffic light.  Heavy truck traffic greatly increases the odds of a catastrophic accident involving our students or school staff.

The people of Pavilion and Pavilion Central School District are in need of a triggered traffic signal at the intersection of York Rd, the bus loop, and Route 63.  Furthermore, the double lanes on Route 63 should be extended to Route 246.  The 35 mph zone should be increased to the southeast to ensure traffic has slowed before reaching the school.
