Learning online is super hard for students. It’s definitely something new to get used to. But some of us can’t get used to it. About half of the students from k-12 grade are having trouble learning online, along with teachers and parents as well. We see you guys are “trying your best” to send us into schools students aren’t seeing “your best.” Online school is mentally draining. 7/10 students questioned has either slept through class or fell asleep during class due to boredom or tiredness. Not only is online school bad for students, it’s also bad for parents and teachers. 5/8 parents of students K-5 are more worried about finding a baby sitter than going to their job. (Studies taken by a local student.) “According to the article Buffalo schools' phased-in return to classroom could start with 7,000 students,” last updated on October 7, 2020, it says, “As many as 7,000 students in Buffalo Public Schools could return to the classroom for in-person learning by mid-November...” Mid November is still a long while away and since your goal is to start with special needs, english speakers, and first graders, it might not be until December that we get back in. That’s not fair. And we can’t wait that long. We’re begging you to let us back sooner, we don’t want to fail.
