Cigarette Smoking Kills.

In New York, 26.5% of cancer deaths are attributable to smoking. Annual health care costs in New York State directly caused by smoking are $10.39 billion. (Link)

For the first time, we have a real solution: Vaping.

According to Public Health England, Electronic Cigarettes are at least 95% less harmful than smoking. (Link to Government's Article)

According to The New England Journal of Medicine, Electronic Cigarettes are almost twice as effective as nicotine patches and nicotine gum at getting adults to abstain from cigarette smoking. Link to NEJM study.

Vaping poses a small fraction of the risks of smoking.

Switching completely from smoking to vaping conveys substantial health benefits and is associated with improved quit success rates.

So why does New York want to pass legislation to make these life saving products virtually unattainable?

Why does New York want to undo the progress made by hundreds of thousands (and eventually millions) of former smokers?

Why does New York want impose a 95% tax and limit options for adults?

Electronic cigarette flavors play a crucial role in making electronic cigarettes enjoyable. Most adult users of these devices prefer tasty flavors like fruits, beverages, desserts etc. After all, why wouldn't they?

New York is proposing multiple bills that would kill New York's 700 hard working small businesses, over 2700 jobs, and send successful quitters right back to cigarettes. Sign this petition and:

Oppose Flavor Ban  (A47) to keep adults interested with flavors and successful in using these products.

Oppose Tobacco 21 (A558) to prevent sending 18-20 year olds back to smoking.

Oppose Ban on Discounts & Coupons (S1148) because smokers should be encouraged, not dissuaded to use harm reduction products to get them off of cigarettes.

Oppose 95% Wholesale Tax (S468) Because a tax that high is obviously absurd.

Together, we can help save lives and bring common sense to the minds of the government officials who work for us.
