There is no need to make this verbose or in fancy language. We are in the age of Coronavirus and been on PAUSE for months. Nobody is in the mood for formalities with our government at this point.

New Yorkers who work remotely are subject to taxes both in New York and the jurisdiction of their employer.

Meaning to say, if a New Yorker resides in Harlem, works remotely from home, and their employer is based in Honolulu, then they can be liable for income taxes to the Federal Government, the State of Hawaii, the State of New York, and New York City.

That isn’t right. New York need Reciprocity agreements with other states to provide tax relief for New Yorkers, particularly during this pandemic and also in life. Other states have reciprocity agreements.

New York can either split one set of state level income taxes, or waive it, or do something else to provide relief. I’m not a tax expert, and since everybody in state government is often required to hold advanced degrees, you can figure it out.

NEW YORKERS DEMAND TAX RELIEF NOW. How is it always a budget deficit the topic of conversation when there are 101 ways that New Yorkers are taxed, fined, and fee’d? Will you start showing the receipts of tax, fine and fee revenues? So that we know exactly where our money is going? Well, that’s the next petition.
