Since Delta Variant of COVID-19 and Delta Variant Plus of COVID-19, have started to raise the infection rate of again, although CDC as announced that everyone needs to wear a mask no matter if you are vaccinated, although 70% of the Americans have already been vaccinated, the confirmed COVID cases have been raising everyday.

According to CDC’s latest statement, vaccines will not stop the virus spreading, but only limit the chance of the COVID-19 patients getting life threatening conditions. Not to mention that there are still many people not fully vaccinated yet. In addition, New York State’s daily infection rate has reached to a new height, which is about 3,600 people per day, and the number is still raising. My family, nor myself want to take the risk of getting COVID by any chance, for instance, by taking public transportation to school, by sitting in a closed classroom, by using public restrooms… 

More importantly, there  are students come from all over the world in one classroom, how would we make sure that they are tested negative from flying from all over the world? School does not required international travelers to get a COVID Test or a 14-day self-quarantine. If NYU would stand from a student or faculty’s point of view, it is clearly NOT the time to re-open the campus yet. NYU has always been my dream school, I believe every student came to NYU for a reason, and NYU is worth it, it is the time for NYU to take a lead, to step out first, to announce online for the coming fall, because it is the best choice comparing to be re-open for now and then switching to online again, it is way too complicated.
