Many people want to celebrate America's independence. Gov. Andrew Cuomo has made fountain type fireworks legal in the recent years but has kept all the fun stuff illegal. Where I live many people go down to Pennsylvania to buy fireworks illegally. Being caught with fireworks is a pretty expensive ticket and in some cases it will cost you some jail time. Im not saying that there shouldn't be restrictions, but I dont think its fair for people to be going to jail for celebrating America's independence. If we make fireworks legal in New York, people won't be getting heavily fined or taken to jail for celebrating our independence, birthdays, anniversaries, and so much more. Its very clear that people love fireworks but with COVID-19 going around this year, many fireworks displays have been canceled. With all the cancelations, many families are left being unable to celebrate an important milestone in our country's history.
