Gun shops are not only essential and part of our second amendment rights, but also a vital part of many communities. Preventing persons from being able to defend themselves and their families in times of such uncertainty is unacceptable. Gun shop were deemed essential by the federal government and days later the governor of new York declared them non essential. We all understand that they dont see eye to eye, but the citizens of New York should not have to be a part of their ego matches. Gun shops across the state were already complying with social distancing rules initially set forth by the governor, and operating fine with no cases of covid 19 reporting catching it at a gun shop. Because the reality is the closing of the shops has nothing to do with covid 19 or social distancing. This is just a means of government controlling the citizens. Cuomo says guns aren't essential but his security detail is definitely armed.  Yet he is so quick to take away our ability to protect ourselves but he travels with a group of armed guards, hypocrites like our govenor need to know that we the people of New York the voting public will not stand for it. New York state gun shops must be reopened during this rough times both to keep more New Yorkers employed and to continue to give New York citizens their constitutional rights  to protect their families.
