As politicians and business leaders talk about reopening the economy, one looming question goes unanswered: Will our kids go back to school full time?  

Working parents have had to juggle child care and employment, children aren’t doing well with virtual learning, special needs parents are not getting the assistance their child requires let alone getting them to do anything on a computer screen. Parents and children’s emotion health are at stake. The list is endless. 

Reopening schools is arguably the most essential complication to overcome for economic recovery. Many parents simply can't go back to work if their children are still home, how are teachers going to teach if their children are still home? 
There are other dangers in the world that threaten children far more grievously, yet we don’t keep them locked inside. Which is why the American Academy of Pediatrics last week released a statement “strongly” urging that “all policy considerations for the coming school year should start with a goal of having students physically present in school.”-From the NY Post. 

Lets make that a full time opening...not Part-Time. 
Where’s the help for families if it is part time? Will they be offered free or subsidized child care? What about transportation issues, parents who work and still can not afford or find child care, will their companies accommodate them if they have lack of child care? Part-Time schooling means a loss of funding to our schools! 

Open schools full time!  Check everyone’s temperatures daily if need be but let these kids go to school full time and do everything they are used to! They need this, we as parents need this! We all need normalcy. If you or your family are at risk than come up with an alternative plan for them but not for the masses. These teachers will still be exposed daily. Kids will be off in daycares, at family members homes etc still exposed. Finally clean these schools appropriate to stop the spread of not just COVID but the millions of other health issues they face every year.
