John Ahamed started this petition to Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and

Since the closing of schools, kitchen laborers were forced to go into work during this pandemic and being exposed to the coronavirus.

These buildings are not getting the cleaning they need and are still being utilized.

Very few children have appeared for breakfast or lunch so there is an increase in food waste. Presently we are being compelled to serve food to grown-ups which is not in our contract.

Kitchen laborers are genuinely worried and stressed out about there own family and nobody is taking that into consideration.

More than 10 people are working in some of these kitchens and are at higher risk of getting sick so where is the social distancing if the social setting has exceeded the limit.

No mask or any kind of protection was given making staff even more vulnerable and endangering the people around them.

Workers are becoming ill and are compelled to come in light of the fact that they have depleted all their sick time and they have to choose between making money or there well being.

Staff is depending on spring break as a way to practice social distancing and spend time with there loved ones.

Staff is relying upon spring break as an approach to rehearse social separating and to spend time with there family.

We are asking the Mayor and Chancellor of New York City and the Governor of New York State to MAINTAIN the forthcoming planned NYC Spring Break from April 9 through April 19 and to waive the yearly 180 school day without penalty.

Should you NOT do as such: Be reminded that MANY Kitchen workers will be unavailable of those Spring Break days in any case in light of strict commitments that the City and State are legally bound to recognize.

Should you NOT do as such: Be aware of the additional compensation to the kitchen laborers who can work in the event that you order schools stay open during Spring Break OR the need to then shorten the school year.

Should you NOT do as such: Consider that your activities just add to the socio-passionate stressors that every single affected family as of now feel and this is in total infringement of your duties in support of the individuals of this extraordinary City and State.

Reasonable leaders make reasonable decisions, and so-- again-- ALLOW the kitchen laborers of NYC to enjoy days of peace, rest, so they can enjoy time with there loved ones during the pandemic.
