Joel Ewing started this petition to Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and

The language used by Gov. Andrew Cuomo in his state mandates dealing with the spread and containment of Covid-19 has resulted in a sweeping blanket rule that hospitals throughout the state have interpreted in their own way. By deeming ALL hospital employees as essential results in unnecessary risk that endangers themselves, their families and the hospital employees who are fighting on the front lines. The fact that a large number of hospital employees who can work from home are not being allowed to as they are now classified as "essential". These employees include office workers, buyers, time-keepers, accountants and a host of other employees who factually do not need to physically be at work.

The language Gov. Cuomo used must be change to "employees in direct contact with patient care". Both Cuomo and many other government heads such as county executives tout that people should work from home and flatten the curve. What they ignore are these employees who can, but are not being permitted to by their respective employer because of the way government has written their mandates.
