My husband is an inmate at St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in Canton NY. Serving a (2) year incarceration. He was told he would be out in (16) months. He has served (8) months already. Vincent has put in many medical request for treatment. He has an extensive health history. He was recently taken from the facility to Potsdam / Canton Hospital for internal bleeding. Vincent was their (3) days when they diagnosed him esophagus cancer. He was transported to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. I tried to see him I was told by St. Lawrence County Jail that inmates were not allowed to visit or contact of any kind while in a hospital setting. It has been weeks Vincent has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Esophagus Cancer, further testing has been done doctors feel it is most likely a Stage 4 Cancer. I was informed this type of Cancer is fast spreading. Being his wife and unable to be with my husband of 18 years, being able to decide together treatment options. The thought of him caged in one room alone no access to family calls not even allowed tv I can just imagine what goes through his mind. Myself I am crazy, I talked to my Pastor for the congregation of our church to pray for him, i can't even lay hands on him to pray and asked God to heal him. What if he dies and I did not get a chance to assist him, will the correctional facility just say sorry here is his body. All we are asking is at this time we be allowed some contact. Even the doctors feel no one should go through this alone.
