Save Indian Point from Closure: Keep NYC Reliable and Clean

Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan, NY is being threatened with closure by an agreement that is not to the benefit of the consumer or surrounding communities and for all intensive purposes will reduce the reliability of power provided to the NYC.

From am economic standpoint, the closure of this plant will be devastating to the neighboring communities as the 1200 jobs are ripped from the small towns surrounding the plant--crippling school districts and small businesses and raising taxes to residents. [Local officials were not consulted prior to an agreement being reached with the state government.]

This action will also greatly hinder the ability for New York State to meet its announced clean energy goals as natural gas replaces the plant in the absence of another viable option.

We want to STAND UP and tell the State Assembly and Governors Office that we SUPPORT THE CONTINUED OPERATION OF INDIAN POINT ENERGY CENTER!!!
