Please help us get the bypass that Farthinghoe needs by signing this petition.

The A422 bisects the small village of Farthinghoe, which is the only village on this east-west trunk road which hasn’t yet been bypassed. Over 10,000 vehicles a day pass through, including a high percentage of HGVs. The level of development in Brackley and Banbury means that these numbers are set to increase.

The road is simply not fit for purpose, being too narrow in places for two HGVs to pass. The sharp bend at the west of the village has seen serious incidents when HGVs have failed to pass safely. The property on this corner has been damaged by vehicles unable to negotiate the bend. There have been many bad accidents approaching the village, resulting in life changing injuries, in areas within the proposed bypass route. Pedestrians and, in particular, children walking to the village school are at serious risk of injury with narrow pavements and HGVs thundering past.

A bypass for Farthinghoe will mean:

  • Your journey is shorter
  • You get to work on time
  • You arrive less stressed
  • Your journey will be cheaper through increased fuel efficiency
  • You’ll avoid potential collision at the pinch-point
  • You’ll reduce the risks to children and pedestrians of the village of Farthinghoe

Your signature on this petition will help us to help you.

Thank you.
