I am supporting this petition as I am an experienced sound engineer.it took me years to be accepted as a FOH engineer and studio engineer. I hope I’ve paved the way for many women to join our industry. We must also fight for age discrimination too. Being a so called pioneer in Sound, I had to endure sexual harassment and just plain harassment. I didn’t put up with such behavior and I still succeeded. We have to include age discrimination in this fight too. Women are now being accepted as Sound people but a very small amount of women are working in the industry.
We have to fix that. Experience is the key. Having a great resume is essential but hard to have since we are still being discriminated against. I started out pulling cable and shadowing men engineers. I am now asking you all to fight against age discrimination. I don’t want to retire.

I have a right to be treated as an equal, not as an oddity or as an object.

Some people may not understand how demoralizing and toxic sexual harassment is. That is why it is used in war by sick people - it can devastate the desire to thrive. It must be cleaned out like a case of cancer, to heal and reunite our people.
