I hope for my daughter (born 1981, strong, sportive, studied Physik and Mathematik), who has CFS since 2003, that the science will find in the near future a answer about this illness. It is not acceptable, that our healtsystem ist not able to find the reason for this illness and could not help young and intelligent persons. That is also a desaster for Europe.

With the Lipkin study yet to report, why are conclusions being drawn so soon?
If the WPI are correct, it is vital to give them ample room and time to prove this. 'Science' will never recover if it is seen, in the future, to have contributed to prolonging a set of illnesses by limiting in some way the the related research.

I'm (was) a long experienced Physiotherapist and Osteopath in my own rehabilitation centre with a good reputation . Since years I'm disabled with ME and ......bedridden.
We had great hope to get such a fantastic support from trustworthy scientists as Mrs. Mykovits , Alter/Lo and the Whittemore-Peterson Institute in Reno to solve all the problems with our health we urgently need.
You're responsible too to get more knowledge and experience in healing all these poor people like me and my family!.
It's your task and duty to support a trustworthy and honest science in your country and for the whole society!.

Sincerely
William Schmid, Germany

We need to be able to count on the independence of a science publication in order to respect it.
We have none in the UK.
Please uphold the best traditions of science and keep a light shining in a darkening world.

It is unconscionable that you would consider requesting a retraction before all the information is in. Let the science go forward.
