end to the bar door host shift

end to the bar door host shift
Hosts at a beloved beach venue have been subject to gruesome shifts coined 'bar door hosting' by management.
In reality, there is no 'hosting', there is only standing. We stand waiting for another passerby to ask whether they can use the bathroom. We stand watching as minor birds collect sticks for their nests inside the restaurant. We stand looking at the restaurant host - he who is actually doing something other than just .... standing.
After countless hours of standing and only standing we have decided to take a stand. Enough is enough.
In acknowledgement of the sheer nothingness of this role we ask that in order to satisfy NSW health orders and ensure all customers of the precinct are both signed in and vaccinated - no less than two staff members (*hosts, runners or waitstaff because let's be honest there is no particular skill required for this job) are allocated the role of bar door host and work on an hourly rotation so that no one person is subject to bar door for longer than one hour at a time.
For managers skeptical of these claims, we strongly urge you to bar door 'host' even if only for two hours. Good luck.
For the sake of our backs, our sanity and our integrity - take a stand and sign.
