I'm writing this petition to help stop the deportation of my uncle Ron An, and other Khmer refugees from being deported. During the last week of August, Ron had a meeting with immigration and soon found out he would be on a plane to California with other Khmer detainees to meet with the Cambodian Consulate.
In 1985, Ron's family had left Cambodia to escape from the Khmer Rouge. Ron was later born in the Philippines, and was only 3 months old when his family settled in the United States. He speaks very little Khmer and has never even been to Cambodia. Ron has served time for a crime he committed 9 years ago during his early adulthood. He is now 31 and wants to make a better life for himself and his children.
If being deported, Ron will be leaving behind his 5 children(ranging from ages 9-13), his parents, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends who all love and care for him.
Please sign, comment and share this petition to stop the deportation of Khmer refugees and bring Ron home.
Bring Ron Home!
