Suspension of School Operations at the University of Pennsylvania for 2/8/18
In a year of political and social unrest where the fabric of what binds us together is being tested daily, the city of Philadelphia has a chance to come together. On Thursday February 8th, the Philadelphia Eagles will be having their Championship Parade. For many students, this event will be a final ending to what is one of the most significant sporting events in the history of Philadelphia. Even for non-natives of the area, this allows students to leave the "Penn Bubble", immerse themselves in the city, and be a part of a historic Philadelphian memory. For these reasons, we, the students of the University of Pennsylvania, strongly urge you to cancel classes on Thursday, February 8th. By doing so, you will allow students to have this great experience and not force them to chose between their studies and, as the School District of Philadelphia put it, a "once in a lifetime event."
