Take action to help Jean-Claude Muyambo
This petition had 120 supporters
Jean-Claude Muyambo is the President of the political party Congolese Solidarity for Democracy and Development. Mr. Muyambo was arrested January 20, 2015 in Kinshasa due to the fact that he mobilized opposition and demonstrations to the current election law changes. While he was first held in Makala, Muyambo had to be transferred to a medical center due to ill treatment during his arrest.
Jean-Claude Muyambo is a political prisoner because the Democratic Republic of Congo's government has locked him away for expressing what Western countries believe to be human rights. The right to free speech and peaceful assembly. He has been sentenced to five years in prison due to a breach of trust and is to pay $100,000 due to damages to the civil party. Muyambo is due for a trial due to apparently selling a building that was not under his possession.
I implore you to create an action to help him, along with the others in the Democratic Republic of Congo who are political prisoners. Thank you.
