Final Year Students started this petition to Amity University (kolkata)

Respected Sir/Madam,

This is a petition from Final Year Students of Amity University Kolkata and we are writing this petition unanimously as a humble appeal of the cancellation of final year examination and for adopting an alternative marking scheme. And there are a couple of serious issues that we would like to mention that should be taken into consideration here.

  1. Uncertainty of Electricity and Internet connectivity during the online examination. There is also a problem with unstable internet for continuous hours. Some of our students come from rural areas where good internet connectivity is a huge issue.
  2. Cancellation of final year examination in premium institutions (IIT Bombay, IIT KGP, etc)
  3.  Technical device issues during or just before the examination.
  4. Risk factors in case of the unfortunate backlogs may lead to the cancellation of job offer students currently have.
  5. Also, Covid-19 and Amphan have lead to unfavorable situations for examinations.
  6. Since we have cleared all 7 semesters, so 8th-semester examination should not be considered as deciding examination for issuing the degree certificate.

As the examination has already been canceled for non-final year students, we request the higher authorities of AUK to do the same for final year students. Unlike non-final year students, final year student's jobs will be at stake. In the case of unforeseen circumstances, students might get backlog in their paper which ultimately might lead to the cancellation of job offers. We as final year batch of 2020 are at the immediate affected side of pandemic and global recession.  Thus, we request the higher authorities of AUK to look into the matter and resolve this issue to our interest as soon as possible.
