AmherstCounty Militia started this petition to AMHERST COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Join us in requesting that the Amherst County Board of Supervisors approve a resolution in support of Amherst County becoming a First Amendment Sanctuary County.

We, the signers of this petition, believe Governor Ralph Northam has exceeded his authority invested in him by the Virginia Constitution by issuing unconstitutional executive orders to limit the number of people you can have in your home, church attendance, size of public crowds and other social gatherings in direct violation of the First Amendment's Right to Peaceably Assemble and of the Constitution of Virginia Article 1 and sections 1 and 12.  This resolution will send a powerful message to Governor Northam that We Will Not Comply with unconstitutional orders and laws.

James Madison and Thomas Jefferson said it is the DUTY of local officials to stop the tyranny of an overreaching government, and that is exactly what we have in Virginia today.

Will you join us in the effort to STOP Governor Ralph Northam and restore the Constitution and liberty in Virginia.

Sign this petition to tell the Amherst County Board of Supervisors that you WANT this resolution passed:

1. Approve the adoption of a resolution that would make Amherst County a First Amendment Sanctuary County.

2. Believe that no individual’s right is more important than another’s.

3. Believe that Governor Ralph Northam DOES NOT have the authority to issue executive orders bypassing the legislative process.

4. Believe in the freedoms enumerated in the Bill of Rights; including the rights of all citizens of Amherst County to peaceably assemble and to engage in commerce for the financial support of themselves and their families.

Nothing in this resolution prevents people from wearing a mask or social distance as they have the freedom to choose.
