For those of you who may not know, American University is planning on increasing the minimum required number of meal plans for First Year students and Sophomores next academic year. This proposed increase would be the equivalent of 200 meal swipes a semester for less than acceptable food. This proposed increase would also increase the total cost of attendance for sophomores by close to $1000.

AU Dining says if they receive feedback from half of the meal plan holders, which is 2,000 students, they would consider throwing away this new proposed plan. Although it is still important to take the AU survey, this petition is meant to serve as an unofficial counter to know how many students, parents or, members of the AU community are sick and tired of AU poaching us for more money.
